Translating between two languages is much more than substituting one word for another. Your English version should flow and sound natural, capturing the mood, unique ideas and style of the original. To achieve this a translator must possess a thorough understanding of both languages and their respective cultures, and then utilize this knowledge to create a translation both faithful to the original and accurate.

A good translator must be a good writer and, preferably, translate into her mother tongue, which she has mastered and the development of which she continues to follow.
